v-connect: connecting care with vision

Academy of NHS Fabulous Stuff

The Academy of NHS Fabulous Stuff is an independent organisation that reflects and supports innovation at the grass roots of NHS care delivery. With the shared aim of encouraging new models of care, the Academy is a natural partner for v-connect.

We were delighted when the Remote Renal Clinic project, working with The Lister Hospital in Stevenage, won a pick of the week award from the Academy earlier in the year. The project, which used v-connect's video service to provide remote renal care to 40 patients, was not only well received by patients, nurses and consultants, but acted as a catalyst for the formation of a telemedicine unit at The Lister where the wider use of remote care is being explored.

The winners on the night were a team from the Langlands Unit at South Glasgow University Hospital who used posters above patient beds to identify and remind the team what was important for each individual patient.

We're delighted to work with the Academy in supporting such grass roots initiatives and helping ensure that best practice examples, great ideas and service solutions are available to all.
