v-connect shortlisted for Innovate UK Award
The v-connect communication service provided by Red Embedded Systems Ltd. has been shortlisted in the inaugural Innovate UK Small Business Innovation Awards for its use of video in care provision. The awards, run by the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, recognise Britain’s most exciting cutting-edge growing companies.
The deployment of video in support of patients in their homes and the extension of the approach into telehealth have been shortlisted in the "innovation leading to productivity improvement" category. Dr Ruth McKernan, chief executive of Innovate UK said: "British companies, such as Red Embedded Systems and their v-connect service, are preparing for the future with their ground breaking innovations. They are building new industries, creating new jobs, and driving productivity. These awards celebrate the best of British innovation and I congratulate all the fantastic nominees."
Dr Adam Hoare, managing director of Red Embedded Systems Ltd. said: "It is a real honour to be recognised by Innovate UK. We have spent the last ten years developing the technology and the last six developing the understanding required to provide a service that meets the needs of care providers. The ability to support people remotely in their own home is a desire expressed by many people and their carers. By collaborating with care providers we are building an approach that is person-centred and embeds remote care into practice."
Jo Johnson MP, the universities and science minister, will present the awards at a ceremony in Parliament on October 13th.
