v-connect leading £1m learning disability care project
A new £1m project to improve the care of people with learning disabilities is being led by v-connect. The project, BOLD-TC (Better Outcomes for People with Learning Disabilities – Transforming Care), brings the video consultation service provided by v-connect together with local and remote vital sign monitoring to allow new models of care to be developed.
v-connect in NHS Alliance "Communities of Care" series
The v-connect service features in a new 3 part series of programmes produced by the NHS Alliance in partnership with ITN Productions and introduced by national newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky.
v-connect delivers Innovate UK - SMART project with Designability
The use of the person’s own TV has been key to v-connect's success, helping overcome barriers to adopting the new technology of a video service. The flexibility of the secure video platform has been further extended through a SMART project with Designability. Now work has been carried out by Designability, at the Bath Institute of Medical Engineering, which brings together v-connect's video service with an interface specifically tailored to people with cognitive impairments such as learning difficulties, brain injury and dementia.

The Academy of NHS Fabulous Stuff is an independent organisation that reflects and supports innovation at the grass roots of NHS care delivery. With the shared aim of encouraging new models of care, the Academy is a natural partner for v-connect.
v-connect shortlisted for Innovate UK Award
The v-connect communication service provided by Red Embedded Systems Ltd. has been shortlisted in the inaugural Innovate UK Small Business Innovation Awards for its use of video in care provision. The awards, run by the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, recognise Britain’s most exciting cutting-edge growing companies.
Digital Health & Care Congress 2015
v-connect and Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council will be discussing "Better Outcomes for People with Learning Disabilities” as part of a Videoconferencing Technology session at the 2015 Digital Health and Care Congress.

Together with partners The Lister Hospital Stevenage and East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, v-connect has won the prestigious Partnership with the NHS Award at this year's Medilink Yorkshire and Humber Awards.
v-connect features in Journal of mHealth
The June issue of the Journal of mHealth features an article about v-connect. Entitled "The Value of Video in Modern Health and Social Care", the article considers the implications of incorporating video to underpin communication in modern clinical work flows.
